How do I download,
print, and use a collage sheet?
After the payment successfully processes, you will receive
an automatic email notification from Etsy letting you know
the file(s) is ready on the Downloads page. Click here for
more info:

Save the new file(s) somewhere on your computer that is
easy to remember. If you purchase a lot of digital
products, then it would be a good idea to have a folder
that you download all your collage sheets or digital
stamps to so they are easy to locate.
You can print the collage sheet as is or you can crop,
resize, etc the images by opening it up in any type of
photo or imaging software, such as Photo Impact, Photo
Shop Elements, or Photo Shop. Then click print. You can
also change the sizes of the images by changing your
printer settings. Many printers allow you to scale the
image by different percentages. Please refer to your
printers owners manual for further instructions.
You can also add the images to a MS Word document and then
print the file. Open a new MS Word file. Click on
"Insert", then "Picture" then "From File". Find the
digital image that you want to use and click on it. You
can print multiple images on one page very easily this
way.
Please note that when you print your collage sheet it will
only look as good as the printer used to print it. To get
a fine print closest to the original collage sheet image
you see on screen, we recommend that you have your sheets
professionally printed at a local copy shop or office
supply store. Prices usually range from 25 cents to 75
cents per sheet. It is well worth the price to have them
print your sheets for you. The color and clarity of
professional laser printers is much better than most home
printers.
How do I print and
use a digital stamp?
Download the file(s) to your computer by clicking the link
in the email you received from us. Save the new file(s)
somewhere on your computer that is easy to remember. If
you purchase a lot of digital products, then it would be a
good idea to have a folder that you download all your
collage sheets or digital stamps to so they are easy to
locate.
Open the file(s) you just downloaded with any type of
photo or imaging software, such as Photo Impact, Photo
Shop Elements, or Photo Shop. You can resize the images if
needed. Then click print. Please refer to your printers
owners manual for further instructions.
You can also add the images to a MS Word document and then
print the file. Open a new MS Word file. Click on
"Insert", then "Picture" then "From File". Find the
digital image that you want to use and click on it. You
can print multiple images on one page very easily this
way.
For best results, use alcohol based markers or colored
pencils for ink jet printed images. Use any type of
coloring medium, including watercolors, with laser printed
images. Your local copy shop or office supply store can
print your digital stamps for you as well.
Where does Swing
Shift Designs get their collage sheet images and digital
images?
All collage sheets, digital stamps, and digital images are
designed by Swing Shift Designs in accordance with United
States Copyright Law. We purchase our images from many
different sources in the US and abroad. Some have been
purchased in bulk, some from flea markets, some scanned
from vintage books, and some from private collections.
How does Swing Shift
Designs create their collage sheets?
We scan and resize each picture at 300dpi. We touch up the
image as necessary, insuring that the end product meets
our high standards. Then we compile the images into an 8
1/2" x 11" document that an be reprinted any number of
times by our customers.
Where does Swing
Shift Designs get their digital stamp images?
Because we love vintage, most of our stamps are scanned
from vintage books that are in the public domain and then
touched up to be suitable for "stamping". Others are
created by us, using digital imaging software such as
Photo Impact, Photo Shop Elements, and/or Photo Shop. In
some cases, we've purchased the rights to sell the images
as our own.
How does Swing Shift
Designs create original digital stamps?
We create a lot of our stamps with our PC, a pencil, a
marking pen, and paper. We first draw the image that we
want to use for a stamp with a pencil and paper. Then we
trace over the final drawing with a marker. We use an
eraser to remove any pencil marks and then scan the image
and open it with digital imaging software. We further
clean up and touch up the drawing digitally and then we
save the completed image in both jpg and png formats. We
also use a digital drawing tablet for some images.
Thank you!
